The Umpqua Gem & Mineral Club is working to get our club into a building of our own. This building will allow all club equipment and physical property to be consolidated under one roof. A future home of our clubhouse, workshop, museum, meeting place, and community hub.
Our workshop and our show trailer is located at the Phoenix School of Roseburg, on Diamond Lake Blvd. Our Juniors lapidary equipment is located at a members property in Roseburg, and the rest of our club property is in a storage facility in Roseburg.
We are in a partnership with the Phoenix School of Roseburg. They have graciously provided us a space for our workshop, and for our show trailer. This partnership will allow our members to teach after school students basic lapidary equipment usage, safety training, as well as lapidary arts and skills.
The possibilities for both of our organizations are endless, and are very exciting. This partnership will allow us to expand our educational and philanthropic mission; allowing us to better serve the students and residents of Roseburg and Douglas County. Our mission will now be able to take place year round, rather than just a couple of times a year.
